5 Inspiring Christmas Campaigns of 2023

Year after year, companies put their marketing teams at work to create heartwarming Christmas campaigns and spread winter holidays vibes worldwide. Now, they are undoubtedly commercial, but many of them are built around inspiring stories that make our hearts flutter.

With Christmas just around the corner, decorations everywhere, ang jingle bells singing, it is the perfect time to have a cup of hot cocoa and see what some of the most famous brands have prepared in 2023.

Here is a selection of five of this year’s campaigns that I would like to share with you.

1. Coca-Cola : The World Needs More Santas

Hundreds of Santas walking on the streets, helping, supporting others, and inspiring a world of kindness—this is the concept of the 2023 Coca-Cola Christmas campaign. The film imagines a world where everyone can become Santa Claus and be good and generous.

Moreover, according to the creative effectiveness platform DAIVID, Coca-Cola’s campaign ranked as the most effective ad of 2023 in the UK. The ad gained the top spot after 72.5% of the people who watched it had an intense positive emotional response to the video. The study was conducted among 3,600 respondents and analyzed 24 Christmas campaigns.

2. The LEGO Group: Play Is Your Superpower

The LEGO Group’s latest holiday film was created as the final milestone of the brand’s campaign ‘Play Is Your Superpower’, aiming to encourage adults to prioritize play for the children in their lives.

The Christmas campaign film intends to tell a story about the superpowers that play unlocks and the way it helps children thrive now and in the future. The narrative centers on how the corporate world acknowledged the value of play, by observing its impact through the eyes of six adventurous children.

3. Lidl: A Magical Christmas

Lidl UK launched their Christmas campaign together with the announcement that their local initiative, Toy Bank, returns. This year, their customers can continue donating unopened toys and games for children who may not otherwise receive a gift for the holidays.

Their film tells the story of a lovely racoon who does all the possible to help a little boy have an extra special day.

The icing on the cake is that Lidl is going to sell plush toys featuring the raccoon and the monkey from the ad.

4. Disney: A Wish for the Holidays

On their 100th anniversary, Disney focused their Christmas campaign on the power of wishes. Their ad features children from all across the globe singing in their native languages, and interpretating ‘A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes’ from Cinderella. The film was showcased across 50 countries.

5. Guerlain: Beelive In Fantasy

Guerlain, the French perfume, cosmetics and skincare house created a winter story in a magic forest with fantastic animals, where an exquisite selection of exclusive gifts is ‘wandering’ around. Iconic symbols of the brand—with the bee (their official symbol) starring—and products are part of the storyline, ‘for a holiday season like no other’.
